For 42 years, in November, when the warm colors of autumn paint the hills of Bologna, Savigno di Valsamoggia (BO) has celebrated the white truffle. This event renews itself every year with original initiatives and offerings; in this context, the truffle serves as a testament to the traditions and unique features of the Savigno area.

"Searching and Digging for Truffles in the Woods"
In 2021, UNESCO recognized "Searching and Digging for Truffles: Traditional Practices in Italy" as part of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. During Tartófla, we have the unique opportunity to follow the footsteps of a truffle hunter and his dog as they immerse themselves in the woods of the communal truffle ground "Le Vigne," located 4 km from the center of Savigno.

Every day of the festival at Piazza XV Agosto in Savigno
Each day of the festival, in a square adorned with the colors of the forest, you will have the opportunity to discover all the curiosities about the world of truffles directly from the expert truffle hunters of the "Il Tartufo aps" association. You can witness small demonstrations of "search and digging," delve into the symbiotic relationship between truffles and truffle-bearing plants, and explore their uses through the panels of the Truffle Museum.

THE BOLOGNESER - La battaglia di Zappolino e altre storie


The exhibition, curated by Fondazione Rocca dei Bentivoglio, blends the sacred and the profane, ancient and modern, tradition and innovation, and arrives in Savigno, at the Frabboni Theater. It features works by Francesco Amura, creator of The Bologneser, the "imaginary magazine" whose cover features, in diverse graphic styles, the historical, artistic, naturalistic, food and wine, traditional, and cultural aspects of urban and metropolitan Bologna. For The Bologneser: The Battle of Zappolino and Other Stories, the artist has created a specific work dedicated to the important anniversary our region celebrates this year.

> Sunday 26 October - 10:30 AM - Ecomuseums Tell Their Stories - Open presentation by RemusER – Emilia-Romagna Ecomuseum Network. 11:45 AM - Screening of "Gold of the Earth: Among the Roots of Valsamoggia," a short film by Pietro Amendola, Camilla Cotti, Lucia Motolese, and Lorenzo Bertoncini. The short film was produced at the end of the fourth edition of the course "Audiovisual Products for Telling the Story of the Territory," organized by CARTA|BIANCA in collaboration with Demetra Formazione and the Mente Locale Festival - Visions on the Territory.

> Saturday 15 November - 4pm | The Game of Medieval Cooking - lecture by Professor Massimo Montanari, Professor Emeritus of Medieval History at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, in conjunction with the educational program "The Zappolino Table," a workshop for exploring and discovering medieval food and wine and culinary traditions, led by IPSAR "Luigi Veronelli" and the Rocca dei Bentivoglio Foundation, with the participation and scientific supervision of Dr. Daniele Ognibene and Professor Massimo Montanari.

> Saturday 15 November - 7.30pm | Peace Dinner - 700 years after the Battle of Zappolino, the delegations from Bologna and Modena, two territories united for centuries by deep ties, sometimes friendly through dialogue and exchange, sometimes conflictual through rivalry, meet on the hills of Valsamoggia to strengthen their bond, with a renewed spirit of harmony and irony, around a shared table laden with the products and dishes of the medieval menu developed and cooked as part of the educational program "The Table of Zappolino".
